Guzzini Foodesign
An exploration of the relationship between food and design and its various cultural, social and preparatory aspects is what drives Foodesign Guzzini. More than 200 internationally-renowned designers from all over the world, with just as many projects and designs to their name, have converged over the years at 6 big events held in various locations across the globe: this is the multicultural, multidisciplinary and innovative vision behind Foodesign Guzzini.

(UN) FORBIDDEN CITY
In cooperation with BIDC (Bejing Industrial Design Center), Alessi has organized the first organic exploration of the potential of the Chinese product design. Under Gary Chang’s project guidance, eight Chinese architects have been asked to design a tray-container, a type of object on which many generations have practiced during Alessi’s history. A research preview was presented in 2011 at the China Shijintan Contemporary Art Center in Beijing, during the Beijing Design Week on the occasion of an exhibition designed and organized by Gary Chang. The eight trays are currently showcased at the Macef exhibition in Milan.

An exhibition combining Italian art, genius and know-how of the artisan world which always represents the best cross-section of our economy

STORIES OF SUSTAINABLE THINGS - by Marco Migliari
In a context in which environmental and sustainability issues of human behavior regarding our planet are widely debated, a series of realized experiences and cases are presented which are meaningful to define behavior models of design, production and use of man who points to objects.
Therefore, the story of products allows the rise of those values related to environmental respect: materials - production processes - individual and social usage behavior - recycling measures at the end of product life.

A CUP OF COFFEE WITH…
With the participation of industry experts, Macef organizes some meetings to discuss the different issues related to “home trends”.
Daily meetings are held in the area in order to discuss different topics.

Organized in collaboration with Preziosa Magazine, the event is devoted to jewels, bijoux and fashion accessories. Every day, at prearranged times, a show/installation is held in an area purposely equipped to host an event which is half exhibition and half show.

THE BEST OF BIJOUX
The traditional competition has been confirmed, conceived to enhance the experience of the most creative companies of the sector. Organized by Macef in collaboration with Preziosa Magazine, the event will award 4 winners that represent the various competition categories.
The creations in competition will be judged by a jury of communication operators, traders and fashion designers.
Awards ceremony Saturday 28th January, 12.00 a.m.

BIJOUX TRENDS GALLERY
In a colorful area, divided into 6 different locations corresponding to as many concepts of women’s image, visitors can immerse themselves in a real “trend gallery” where costume jewelry, ironically, will enrich the various female fi gures reproduced on canvas.
Six themes will be proposed: women and art, women and comics, icon women, women and history, women and fashion, ethnic women. Colors will have warm and sophisticated tones that allow provocative and joyful combinations: from opaque to bright, from cold to warm, from light to shadow.
The curators of the area are the designers Tini Bagattini and Rita Spaggiari.
MACEF GREEN MAP: the path of sustainable home at MACEF
It is MACEF’s new project to highlight environmentally sustainable products of the companies that are present in the January 2012 event.
Each product will be marked with a card that describes its social and environmental performance. Macef Green Map follows the fi rst edition of Macef Sustainable Home introduced last September.
